There are a few things to consider however when deciding how much it costs to install a dishwasher. Let’s take a look at these factors.  

 

 

Installing A Free Standing Dishwasher

If you have a free-standing dishwasher it’s a simple matter of locating the dishwasher in the chosen space and connecting the services.

 

An electric supply will be needed for power, a mains water supply for water intake, and the waste hose will need connecting to drain the machine. Assuming electrics, water supply and dirty water discharge facilities are all in place, this will take no longer than 15 minutes. If you have had a dishwasher in the same place before it will be straightforward.

If however you are locating a dishwasher in a place where there hasn’t been one before then there may be some work to ensure the dishwasher can be linked up to water intake and discharge. In this case the job may take a couple of hours and cost more than our average £60.

Installing An Integral, Fitted Dishwasher

These are fitted within existing kitchen cabinets so they get hidden within the kitchen units. This makes for a more pleasing appearance.

However, it will take slightly longer to install these even if there has been a machine in the same place before.

Once again the machine needs connecting to all the services it needs, but rather than sitting the dishwasher on the floor it needs to be inserted into the kitchen cabinet and a door fitted over the outside of the dishwasher door to keep it hidden. 

 

Apart from the obvious cost of the dishwasher itself, there are a few things that can also increase the cost of installation of a dishwasher.

 

As we have already mentioned any movement of services required to install the dishwasher will take extra time and therefore cost more money.

 

That might even mean installing a new electrical socket or moving water or waste pipes.

 

If you need your installer to take away your old dishwasher many of them will do so,m but there is likely to be an additional cost for this.
